Skycrest Homes work, and how to read it
Thirty-four finished projects across the Chicago suburbs. Here is what kind of job each one was, which six to start with, and where in the area the work actually is.
A portfolio is only useful if you know what you are looking at
Every builder shows you nice photographs of finished rooms. What the photographs do not tell you is whether the job was easy, what it cost, how long it took, or what the builder did when something went wrong halfway through.
So this page says which of these were ground-up builds and which were remodels, because those are different trades with different risks. Then it points at six worth opening first. Everything here is in the gallery too, just without the commentary.
The question worth asking
Pick any project on this site and ask us what went wrong on it. Every job has something. What you learn from the answer is how the next problem on your house gets handled.

Custom homes
Ground-up houses on lots that were empty when we got there. Most of what we do, and the longest relationship: you are with us from the lot walk to the last walkthrough.
27 projectsWhole-house remodels
An existing house taken apart and put back differently. Harder than new construction, because the house gets a vote and it only tells you what it thinks once the walls are open.

The floor most houses waste. A theater, a gym, a bar, a wine room, and the mechanical work underneath that makes a basement stop feeling like one.
